Active

  1. Transmit
    • it is participating actively in the piconet, either transmitting or receiving
  2. Connected

Low Power

  1. Snifft
    • it listens to the piconet at a reduced rate, thus lowering its power consumption
  2. Hold
    • master units can put slave units into hold mode. This power-saving mode is used when no data needs to be transmitted. When a device is put on Hold, only its internal timer remains active.
  3. Park
    • When a device needs to stay connected to a piconet but does not need to participate in the ongoing data traffic, that device can be put into Park mode. In park mode, the device remains synchronized to the piconet, but gives up its MAC address.
